After the blocks are cut and squared up                                            I cut them using a sliding sled on the tablesaw.   This sled has mechanical hold downs that secure the small blocks and exactly position them so hands and fingers are not close to the blade.  Cutting small pieces on the tablesaw is extremely dangerous, and should not be done by an inexperienced worker.                                                                I use the data from the  cad program to setup the compound miter angles for each block, and then glue 12 blocks into a ring.

The ring can be either open or solid.  A solid ring is  cut on the tablesaw too.  I use a water resistance yellow glue,  and hose clamps to clamp the pieces together.   After they have dried I flatten them in a drum sander in preparation for stacking them into the final bowl shape.
The Next Step
